About The Speaker

Serban Ionescu

A psychiatrist and clinical psychologist, Serban Ionescu is Emeritus Professor of Psychopathology at the University of Paris 8 Saint-Denis and at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières. He is a corresponding member of the Academy of Medicine of Romania, Doctor Honoris Causa of the Universities of the West (Timisoara, Romania) and of Liège (Belgium), and Knight of the Order of Palms Academies (France). Serban Ionescu has taught as a visiting professor in many universities and was co-director of the University Center for Psychology Consultations at the University of Québec in Trois-Rivières, director of the Institute of Psychology at the University of Paris Descartes and the Distance Learning Institute of Paris 8 University. He currently chairs Resilio – the International Association for the Promotion and Dissemination of Research on Resilience, is a member of the Scientific Council of Campus Condorcet and President of the Scientific Council of the Institut Résilience-Citizens. He is the author or co-author of more than 230 publications including 30 volumes, including “Resiliences. Resemblances in diversity” (Odile Jacob, 2016),” Treatise on Assisted Resilience “(Presses Universitaires de France, 2011) and “15 approaches to psychopathology” (Armand Colin, 2015). Of the 72 candidates who have submitted a thesis or an authorization to conduct research under his direction, 32 are currently professors or research directors in France, Canada, Belgium, Brazil, Algeria, Rwanda or Turkey.
